“The idea of undertaking just one more business in the farm of my family seems sympathetic to me, as we already produce tobacco and my father has a student and cargo transportation company, including trucks that transport tobacco produced by the farmers of the region. Being an entrepreneur has always been on my mind, and we are doing plans for me to carry on with the transport company. Now, in the Entrepreneurship and Rural Management course, which I attended as an apprentice of the Growing-Up Right Institute, I devised a project to produce free-range chickens, which could be an option for a new family enterprise. According to the plan, the first steps would consist in the construction of the poultry farm and, in the sequence, we would start rearing our free-range chickens. We are still improving the idea and I intend, in the future, put the project into practice.
For rural youth, I perceive there are plenty of business opportunities, which include exploring rural tourism. Investments in agroindustries and bee farming are just other diverse opportunities. I believe that, for rural youth to be successful in the rural areas, good administration of the activities and great interest in their work are of fundamental importance. These ideas coincide with what we learned in the course provided by the Growing-Up Right Institute, which I attended in 2023 and where I had a unique learning experience. Besides making new friends, I made strides in terms of communication, which, without any doubt, was very significant to me”.
