The option is for rural production
“After turning 18, I decided to stay in the rural area, in the same activity of my parents, the production of tobacco and corn. Here we lead a calm life and I intend to give continuity to the same agro activity because, with technology and highly valued products, it has become much easier to be successful in the rural area. My taste for living in the rural area grew further during my adolescence, when I had new life experiences and unique experiences provided by the course on Entrepreneurship and Rural Management at the Growing-Up Right Institute. Some of my most significant learning skills include communication and the improvement of my public speaking skill. Furthermore, with several pedagogical and other visits I acquired great knowledge on the rural area and on activities connected to agriculture and cattle farming. And, with regard to group work, it was a rich exercise and something that put all of us to the test. To live with a group of persons with different ages and personalities brought us closer together and made us more patient.
I keep good memories of the learning course and one that makes me proud is that one of my drawings was published in the book ‘Learning and Child Labor Eradication’, in prose, verse and image, an initiative by the Rio Grande do Sul Professional Learning Forum (FOGAP) and the Rio Grande do Sul State Forum on Child Labor Prevention and Eradication and Protection of Teenage Workers (FEPETI/R). And as a graduate, the Institute continues a part of my life. In March this year, I was at the Growing-Up stand during the Expoagro Afubra Rural Fair, in Rio Pardo (RS), where we welcomed the visitors to the Agricultural Fair and I had the opportunity to share my life experiences”.
